Welcome to the results page. After each race, we will have the results of each race, the "who made it and who didn't"! Who struggled and who was on top!

          WIN #7 FOR TEAM MOODY

The Southwest Superchargers made the trip West October 4 to SIR/ Tucson, AZ. The SWSC was part of a special race night that included local street show cars and an 8-car jet show.

The SWSC was the first set down the SIR quarter. Q-1 commenced around 5:00 pm with Buck Woolen facing Greg Powell. Bucks new motor and ignition combo were raring' to go but the ignition half quit sparkin' just as the tree went green, no time. Powell's funster went a spectacular 7.612/174 out of the box. WOW! Next Sue Stringer and Julian Moody went off. Sues decent 7.766/170 vs. Moody's DQ'ed 7.445/179. Don David and Bill Norman were Pair 3. Bills Hemi ran a DQ'ed 7.432/184 as Dons altered went 7.730/174. Next Andy Mears and Jacob Penner came up. Penner's barely legal 7.514/180 out ran Andy's better qualified 7.687/179. Finally Mike Jones went an officially ignored 7.475/183. We would also like to note Buck Woolen JR was in attendance for Friday nights test'n'tune but was injured while helping Buck Sr. make a run. Jr. slipped on track while chasing Sr. back from his burnout, severely twisting his knee. How bad? Surgery may be necessary. Oh, and Buck Jr. had just run a great 7.71 in his own car. Get well quick!

Q-2 came up quickly at 6:00 pm with Powell/Moody. Powell again annihilated the SIR clocks with his 7.599/174 vs. Moody's 7.699/174 (7.60 index). Next Buck Sr. and Sue fired. Bucks nice 7.577/175 outran Sues motor destroying low gear pass (Good Job Harpers Oil Retention Blanket). Norman/Fat Boys again ran Don David. Don squeezed the index, 7.655/176 as Bill again went a DQ pass 7.443/184. Jacob Penner ran closer to the index 7.526/181 vs. Andy Mears consistent 7.673/179. Mike Jones also had a second DQ pass, 7.447/183.

While ten cars made the race, Buck Jr. was a no-show and Sue was qualified but broke for Rd 1. So #1 Greg Powell would run #8 Mike Jones (installed with 2 non-qualifying runs closer to index than #9 Bill Norman). #2 Buck Woolen would face #9 Bill Norman (running in place of #7 Sue Stringer). #3 Don David would run #6 Julian Moody. And #4 Andy Mears would get #5 Jacob Penner.

Rd 1 started as #1 Greg Powell fired his funster to run #8 Mike Jones altered. Greg's superior 7.611/173 took out Jones' close 7.689/146. Next Jacob Penner ran Andy Mears. Penner took a round win when Andy bulbed (7.649/176 vs. 7.624/180). Nice Pass! Another close one came off with Don David vs. Julian Moody. Moody took a hole shot win 7.694/169 (.116 rt) to Dons 7.647/175 (.199 rt). Finally the closest pass of Rd 1 was Norman/Woolen. On the double break out rule, Buck advanced on his 7.529/175 over Bills 7.509/170. Excellent!

Rd 2 of SWSC Eliminations saw Jacob Penner run Greg Powell. Greg's outstanding 7.594/173 won when Penner red lighted (7.535/180). Now check out the stats on this next pass closely. Julian Moody won over Buck Woolen as both cars went sub-index, Moody's 7.576/175 over Bucks 7.572/171. What a group!

The final was Powell/Moody, small block vs. big block. Moody again went sub index but WON when Greg left early by .033 sec. (7.525/177 vs. 7.690/173). You guys wipe me out! It's amazing how this group responds to a well prepared quarter mile track.

Our thanks to Dennis and Paul of SIR for inviting the SWSC. Hope to see you in 2009 with more cars!

Ok SWSC fans, we're off to Abilene Oct 11. Look for a 16-car field there. See ya at the Races!
