2017 Season Banquet
The Southwest Superchargers
2017 Season Awards Banquet was Saturday night, January 27, and
we had a full house of 60 attend for dinner and awards. Dinner
was excellent, service was great, and the company for the social
hour was fantastic. If you didn't show, you missed a great
event.
With the 2018 season shaping up nicely (8-10 races this year,
our busiest in several years), it's time to start sending in
your SWSC annual membership dues. No change, still $200. Send to
Sue or Don, call or e-mail for snail mail addresses.
If you were lucky enough to draw for one of the door prizes from
Corrosion Specialties (air tank, compressor, drill bit sets,
fuel jugs, etc.), please send a message to Jonathan Parrish @
432-638-5832, or 432-561-5988 and let him know you appreciate
his participation in our racing program. Over the years
Corrosion Specialties has donated over $7500 to our banquet door
prize system. Thanks, Jonathan!
ATI Jet, Lyle Byrums executive jet contract service, donated a
$100 special door prize. Thanks to Lyle for all he does for the
SWSC. Also, Good Vibrations/Drag Parts sent us their annual box
of handy items for door prizes. They have also stepped up again
for 2018 and funded their Quick Light Bonus program for best r.t.
of elims at all races . And today we received word Mears
Mazda/Volvo Andy Mears will continue his funding a bonus for
each winner and runner-up. Our Thanks to Andy and Mears Mazda.
So, watch the website for updates in the 2018 schedule. We are
still awaiting word from Roswell, and Prairie Hill
Raceway/Axtell, Tx, has said they may have us back late in the
season.
It's gonna be a banner year! Looking back at all the SWSC
history I can find, this looks like about our 20th season as an
organization. I know I said that last year, but I'm close! We
raced as Supercharged Gambler for a couple years before we were
known as Southwest Superchargers. I've got photos dated 1998 of
cars with blowers that didn't have before that date, so...
Let's go racing!
See you there!
